Mission Statements
The
mission of the Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS) Organization is to work in
partnership with its sponsoring Funding Sources, Political Arena, Faith
Based and Community Organizations, Education Institutions, Families,
Business and Volunteer Supporters to provide an Annual, “free” diverse
Gospel and Inspirational Music Festival and Fair for the Greater Hartford
Region. This Mission is under girded and inspired by our slogan “Chicago
has its Blues Festival, Newport has its Jazz Festival and . . . Hartford has
its Gospel Festival and Fair”.
The
Lift Every Voice and Sing Community Choir
is committed
to providing musical support to churches schools, organizations, and
other groups. We are also committed to an annual festival and fair for
the purpose of uplifting the City of Hartford. We will provide some
form of support to all who make a formal request to our committee.
LEVAS will challenge its members to be creative, innovative,
and spiritual. And to "seek favor with man and God" as we minister our
gifts and talents.

Differentiation Statement
Some members have over 30 years of experience in the music
field.
We want men, women, boys and girls-entire families- to make up
this group.
We are small enough for people from all walks of life to become
involved. We welcome diversity.
We are large enough to provide musical support to the entire
community.
Multiple groups within the choir can better support the musical
needs of the community
If the entire group cannot perform at a function, one or more
individuals will be selected to represent the group.
Our goal is to build better families which will ultimately
produce strong, productive communities.
